I don't know what to do, my sweetheart is snoring nearly every night and it is impossible to be in one room with him. He tried different methods, but nothing seemed to help us. It is not a bad habit of him, rather a bad luck. I love him very much but see no other way out from this situation that to split up. If somebody can help me with any advice I will appreciate that.

I have a male friend with a similar problem. Well it is not so much a problem for him as it is for his partner. I discussed this with him and he claims nothing he ever tried seems to work. However, whilst it may not be free treatment, I believe it is treatable if you persevere enough. I watched a programme on TV about this and by trying various methods and not giving up, eventually one of the methods worked for each of the people on the programme. So it seems the solution is there, but may require a lot of perseverence in trying to find it. Good luck.

Snoring is a big problem which many women have to tolerate. However, who says couples must always sleep together! I think having separate beds can keep a relationship alive and solve the snoring problem at the same time.

Snoring is not a problem at all comparing to other things that you partner could be incline to. For example laughing and talking asleep or even get out of bed and do things without remembering them afterwards. This can be not annoying as much as snoring but more wired and gives much more reasons to do something about.

I am not sure how prevalent snoring is amongst women, but I know I would hate it if I were forced to sleep next to someone who snored. How are you meant to sleep? I think it can be a big problem. Mind you, I thought it was a problem which could largely be solved nowadays, though it may take patience and perseverence by trying a lot of different techniques. Worth the effort though if it gives you a quiet nights sleep!

Strangely isn't it that men are generally snoring more often than women? I would also hate if somebody would snore every night near me in bed.

Due to one of the following:
* Throat weakness, causing the throat to close during sleep
* Mispositioned jaw, often caused by tension in the muscles
* Fat gathering in and around the throat
* Obstruction in the nasal passageway
* The tissues at the top of airways touching each other causing vibrations
* Relaxants such as alcohol or drugs relaxing throat muscles
* Sleeping on one's back, which may result in the tongue dropping to the back of the mouth. |

They said, snoring is a prevalent sign that there's a health-related problem. So, better ask your doctor about it, before it becomes worst.
