In Munich it often seems to be like this (well in English Garden anyway ). Apparently there is a reason for it. Something to do with workdays having more cars on the road than at weekends, therefore leading to more pollution which gradually builds up over the week and by the time the weekend comes, there is more of a chance that the pollution seeds rain clouds and causes the rain. Not sure how accurate this is though. The weekend rain clears the air and we start all over again from Monday. |

This summer has been a bit pathetic so far. Apparently the weather will improve next week.

Here we are in August, which has been nice so far, but about to descend into miserable wet greyness again. No eating chicken in the English Garden for the next while I think.

Beginning from the last days of summer and now at the start of autumn the weather has been spoiled amazingly. It is raining non stop and become very cold comparing to even a few days ago. The only my hope is Indian summer when it will be warm and sunny angain.

Where does the term 'Indian Summer' come from? I never really understood this phrase.

The term is used metaphorically to refer to a late blooming of something, often unexpectedly, or after it has lost relevance. This is comparable to the use of the term renaissance in the sense of "revival", but it carries the added connotation that the revival is temporary.

In my part of the world, the weather's extremely hot ! I think this is the reason why my flu worsened instead of getting better.
